I hope you had a great Labor Day weekend! I'm returning to Brooklyn today from a beautiful trip to Pittsburgh to visit family and close friends, people who mean the most to me. It's been a year since I've seen them, and hugging them close meant the world to me. This photo is my oldest friend and I having a blast together with my dad and with her husband at Pittsburgh Improv, where we laughed a ton at Jordon Rock's stand-up. He's Chris Rock's younger brother, "the affordable Rock," he called himself; if he comes to your town, go check him out! I also got to hear my cousins tell their stories of being at the Pitt vs. WVU football game, the most attended sports event in Pittsburgh history - which is saying a lot in this sports town!
You can see in the photo I'm wearing my new Sash bag! You wouldn't believe how much I keep in mine when I travel, and I love it! The leather is butter soft and very light. Lately I've come to realize there's not going to be a "return to normal" because the old Normal is in the rearview and we are all navigating what Normal means going forward. It's wonderfully comforting to have these hometown visits and feel how timeless and unchanging unconditional love can be, especially in a world full of change. I hope you made some terrific memories this weekend too because close relationships are the solid foundation we all need as we rebuild our routines and lives anew.
