Who and Where Will You Be?

"Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do."

― John R. Wooden

These are days for dreams and plans. Time is moving differently. Or rather, we are moving differently in time. Have you gotten used to these new rhythms? Do you wonder at how you used to fill your time now that you've made changes to your routines? I've settled nicely into a newly structured lifestyle, and fortunately it's one that is making me happy and healthy. I begin my day with cardio, strength, flexibility, or core training all with steadily increasing difficulty as I progress through the program I'm on. This is not an overnight journey to my weight loss goals because I'm making long-lasting adjustments to my entire lifestyle.

It's precisely this long-range planning that is helping me handle the "lockdown life." Under the cover of social distancing, I'm slowly transforming, and time is on my side. What long-term goals could you start working on right now? You've probably established your new daily routines by now, so give yourself a challenge. Something you can't binge watch and something that isn't easy to accomplish, something that will take a lot of time. What instrument would you like to play? What language would you like to speak? What business idea have you been mulling over? What skill do you fantasizing about mastering? What kind of person do you want to see emerging out of all this? How can you turn all this time ahead of us, especially in the darker days of fall and winter, to your advantage?

I know everyone is dreaming about where they're going to travel next. One of Nine Muses Travel's favorite travel suppliers serves destinations across six continents and is offering a Book with Confidence promotion where you may cancel up to seven days prior to departure and receive 100% future travel credit toward any of their global destinations for any other dates - including airfare! So far this month I've had clients jump on this promotion by booking a Wales walking trip, and others are designing a gorgeous journey along the Mediterranean in Portugal's Algarve region.

Where will you plan to go next, knowing your travel dollars are safe?

You could book a future trip to Brazil and learn how to dance samba in the months ahead; that's exactly what I did when friends and I went to Rio for Carnival in 2017. I took weeks of samba classes, until finally, across the Equator one joyous, sultry night at Rio Scenarium, I danced the night away with the locals and tourists to a fantastic live samba band. I was in heaven because I took the time to learn some new moves and create unforgettable memories of dancing in Brazil. You might book an intimate canal barge cruise or river cruise through France and try your hand at French lessons in the meantime. Do a deep dive into ancient history and culture before you walk amongst the ruins in Greece or Egypt. Read all of Jane Austen's novels, then feel connected to her as you tour Bath, England.

Seize this opportunity of time to fill the weeks ahead with joyful anticipation and learn a new skill for unbelievably fulfilling experiences and bolder, richer stories. Let's plan confidently for a future you'll love to envision, and let Nine Muses Travel help get you where you want to be!

I design journeys that inspire by highlighting local arts and culture, history, and cuisine for intellectually curious clients longing to feel deeply inspired by exciting destinations, culinary delights, and authentic cultural experiences on a life-changing, joyful journey of discovery.
