Hi! I’m Danielle Dybiec, Founder and President of Nine Muses Travel. With a background in both arts management and luxury group tourism, I saw the need for a boutique travel company led by a professional fluent in both languages. Nine Muses Travel uniquely understands the performing arts industry, and with my experience in bespoke group travel for high-profile theaters, museums, alumni organizations and more, I look forward to sharing with you the fabulous benefits of customized, cultural travel.
My wanderlust began in childhood when every summer my family loaded into an RV from Pittsburgh, and we hit the road coast to coast through America and Canada. What a gift to have seen 49 states and most provinces by the time I graduated high school! Then while studying abroad and working in London theaters as both an undergraduate and graduate student, the international travel bug caught hold and never let go. In London I was forever changed by artistic awakenings and the convenience of exploring Europe - England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, Spain, Switzerland and Italy. I vowed that travel would always be a part of my life, as much as the arts, and I’ve made good on that promise ever since.
While earning my MFA in Performing Arts Management from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, I worked at Brooklyn Center for Performing Arts, The Wooster Group, Boneau/Bryan-Brown and London’s National Theatre. My professional arts career includes working with well over 100 amazing visiting companies during my nine years in Artist Services at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), and for five years I managed rentals at The New 42nd Street Studios for hundreds of productions in rehearsal, often seeing shows go from workshop to Broadway stage. Both positions required a sophisticated level of hospitality and cultural awareness as well as mastery of scheduling, contracts and complicated logistics – a terrific skill set for a future travel consultant! And I continued to explore the world, adding new countries to my list - Brazil, Hungary, Greece, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Aruba, the Bahamas and Mexico.
In 2013 I decided to bring travel to the forefront of my career and joined a tour operator where I was Manager of Tour Development and Operations and designed over 50 bespoke, luxury group trips for donors of theaters, fine art museums, garden societies and prestigious alumni organizations. I specialized in travel to Cuba, the UK, Portugal, Spain and the USA - especially New York and the Hudson Valley, all of which I adore. I also enjoyed leading several of these groups as a Tour Director, and one of the many I directed in Cuba incredibly fell during the same week Havana was visited by the Obamas, the Tampa Bay Rays and the Rolling Stones! I next became a North America Product Manager for premier luxury tour operator Tauck, where I reimagined and enhanced group itineraries throughout the Canadian Maritimes, New England, the mid-Atlantic, New Mexico, California and Hawaii. During this time, I stayed directly connected to the arts by serving on my Brooklyn College MFA alumni board, avidly attending theater, dance, music and opera performances and occasionally ushering for theaters around New York City (which is such a joy). Maybe I’ve even helped you to your seat!
I readily united my life’s work when I founded Nine Muses Travel. I also joined the brilliant Gifted Travel Network, who power my back-office support and provide membership into the industry’s leading luxury travel consortium with preferential access to a vast global network of thoroughly vetted hotels and on-the-ground providers offering unparalleled access to VIP perks and amenities. Every element of your valuable trip is given great care and personal attention when you choose Nine Muses Travel, and I look forward to helping you achieve your travel aspirations. Let’s get inspired, together.
