On January 1, 2019 the first Muse News email was sent, and every single week for the last five years I've loved writing my subscribers' newsletter to share who I am as a professional travel advisor and what Nine Muses Travel can do for you. Muse News became a record of my journey as a small business owner from early days then through a global pandemic to where we are now with the comeback of travel at last. Sales in 2023 were 133% over 2022 sales, thanks to you and your referrals. Reaching my sales goals means making hundreds of bookings; in 2023 we made 237 reservations. But a new year starts at zero, and so far in 2024 we've made two bookings. One of those first two 2024 bookings was actually for my own arrangements to London. A prestigious dance company hired Nine Muses Travel for a high-end donor trip to London in March, culminating in attending the company's performance there and a post-show cast party. We have amazing things planned for them during their stay at the newly opened Raffles London at The OWO. In addition to private dinners in fabulous dining rooms around London, they're being hosted for cocktails at Winfield House (the U.S. Ambassador's residence in Regent's Park), joining special tours of the National Gallery and Sir John Soane's Museum, and attending a West End play and a performance at the Royal Opera House. Nine Muses Travel was originally conceived to specialize in exactly this kind of group trip, so it's a thrill to see performing arts organizations returning their attention to donor travel programs!
2023 was my year of saying "yes" to travel invitations because the pandemic years were too focused on "no" to this and "no" to that. Looking ahead to 2024, my personal travel goal is to focus on places that have lingered too long at the top of my wish list. Really, what are any of us waiting for!? I've already got South Africa and Namibia booked, plus an Explora Journeys cruise in May called A Journey of Pacific Pleasures and the Panama Canal from L.A. to San Diego, Mexico (Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta), Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Panama! And I have plans brewing for Morocco and Iceland (and more) in 2024.
