I hope you had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday and were able to enjoy it with people you love. Sadly for me, I had to cancel travel plans to see family so I could stay home, rest, and rehydrate after falling ill in Bolivia. I knew it was just what I needed when I caught the end of The Wizard of Oz on TV and got surprisingly emotional over the whole "there's no place like home" of it all.
I traveled more in 2023 than any other time in my life. I was painfully aware of the precious months and years of healthy and able-bodied travel I lost during the pandemic, so I decided to spend the entire year saying YES to professional travel invitations. It became an extraordinary year filled with trips to Paris, Mexico three times (staying in Tulum, Playa Mujeres, and Riviera Maya), Italy three times (Alps, Genoa/Cinque Terre, and Tuscany: Arezzo and Montecatini Terme), Spain (Mallorca and Gran Canaria), Austria (Vienna and Salzburg), Quebec City, the Berkshires, and the most recent adventure through Peru and Bolivia. I still have one more fully hosted (aka free) trip to come in December, a Virgin Voyages sailing called Dominican Daze, when I'll get to experience this adults-only cruise and share with you my feedback.
The beauty of this job is that with Wi-Fi and my VPN connection, I can carve out time each day to work from anywhere. I love what I do and taking care of my clients, and there's a marvelously peaceful beauty to working from a hotel balcony on Mallorca overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, for example.
Throughout it all, Nine Muses Travel sales increased significantly in 2023, and I'm predicting great goals ahead for 2024. Please keep your referrals coming! I don't really advertise, and your recommendations are vital to helping my business continue to grow.
