Everyone Loves Italy

I hope everyone's keeping cool under your heat domes this week, while over here some intrepid clients are escaping it for amazing adventures around Europe's southern seas! We have three families traveling through Italy in style as speak. One family left Florence yesterday for a Tuscan bike tour, and they'll finish their journeys in Sorrento - enjoying a private visit to Pompeii, private boat trip to Capri and Positano, an afternoon at an estate near Sorrento for lemon product tastings and a limoncello making demonstration. The trip celebrates their 35th wedding anniversary, which they'll always remember!

The second family leaves Rome behind today and takes a train to Monterosso, their home in the Cinque Terre region for four nights. They'll see the enchanting mountain villages on a boat tour that stops for a lunch of local foods and time for a swim. Then they're off to Florence too.

The third client in Italy traveled yesterday from Milan to a spa hotel in Forte de Marmi, a favorite beach destination in Tuscany. After a relaxing four nights there, he and his family explore Florence then the more off-the-beaten track island of Elba, before ending in Rome. This is his first trip since the pandemic, and I've loved reassuring him about this trip - because I get it. We all had different risk sensitivities during the pandemic, and we all take as much time as we need to recalibrate. It makes me so happy to be his support in planning this gorgeous trip specifically filled with spa hotels. (That's one way to make sure you stay calm during your trip!)

Today we have a group of seven friends departing Minneapolis for Corsica, the fourth largest island in the Mediterranean. It's a part of France but has a strong Italian culture; in fact, there are three languages besides English spoken here: French, Italian, and Corsu! Their beautiful villa hotel includes complimentary airport transfers for a restful stay before they take a yacht trip ending on the northern coast of Sardina for a fun night on land. All of them except one, that is! Instead of spending a night with the group on Sardinia (pictured above), one of the guests will travel straight to Lisbon to meet his wife for a week touring Portugal together - a place they said they'd put off too long.

But wait, there's more! A fantastic couple are flying tonight to Croatia for a custom, off the beaten track holiday in resorts outside Dubrovnik, Split and Hvar, plus private tours including a countryside bike tour and cooking class, delicious meals, and wine tastings. Of course, all the transfers, ferry tickets, and flights are pre-arranged, so they just show up and have a great time.

We've planned most of those June trips above far in advance to get all that great availability we wanted.
