Just Back: Aboard Discovery Princess with Virtuoso

The sun set behind the islands beyond Ensenada, Mexico as we left port on Sunday for our last night aboard Princess' newest ship, Discovery Princess. I was participating in the Virtuoso at Sea conference on a round trip L.A. sailing with stops in San Diego and Ensenada. It was my first Princess cruise, and I learned a lot about Princess from the guest perspective. I also learned anytime there's an 80's night, I must dance with my people. When the working day is done, girls just wanna have fun, you know?

Throughout the conference, I shared valuable time connecting on a human level with colleagues from all over the world. I went dancing to 90's music (also my jams) with the VP of National Accounts for Abercrombie & Kent. I swapped wild travel stories over dinners and drinks with AmaWaterways' Director of National Accounts, the International Sales Manager for Paris' Galeries Lafayette, the VP of Sales at Atlas Ocean Voyages, the National Accounts Manager at Delta Vacations, and my pal at Avanti Destinations, one of their Regional Sales Directors - along with many other Virtuoso travel advisors. We come from different backgrounds and different places, but we instantly feel at home with each other because we're under the same magic spell; we love travel, and we love to help others travel too!

It wasn't all dining and dancing.... I went in depth discussing the differentiators between the small ship luxury cruise lines like Regent Seven Seas, Silversea, and Seabourne. I became inspired by the unique itineraries of Atlas Voyages' yacht-like brand. I got updates from some favorites tour operators like the Globus family of brands: Globus, Cosmos, and Avalon Waterways. I heard from the Seville tourism board how United will soon fly there nonstop from Newark. And I spent time hearing more about Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg, NIZUC Resort & Spa near Cancun, and the Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt, which I went googly-eyes over during their presentation because of their gorgeous lakefront setting on Lake Tegernsee, just south of Munich and close to the Austrian border.

More than ever I'm looking forward to the annual Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas this summer so I can reconnect with all my new travel friends. How does this translate to a better travel experience for you when you work with Nine Muses Travel? In short: relationships matter. My clients are treated very well, and the destination and brand knowledge I gain on these work trips helps me be the best travel advisor I can be for you. I adore working in this industry with smart, caring, and well-traveled people!
