In New York City, we're being drenched with a week of raw, blustery days of gusting winds and rain, though of course it's nothing compared to what so many others have endured this past week with Hurricane Ian. I can't fathom what's been lost, and it makes our wet weather more tolerable in comparison. Last week I had clients enjoying a family beach trip in their two-bedroom oceanfront room at Hilton Royale Palms Condominiums on Myrtle Beach; and with Ian headed straight towards them, they were actually able to check out on time as planned - just hours before Ian made landfall again. They left with the storm right behind them, while assuring me they were fine and had great tires too for the wet drive home. Now that's cutting it close!
To help stave off the damp chill of this weather, I've planned more upcoming business travels - like securing my spot at Gifted Travel Network's annual conference; in May 2023 we're gathering in sunny Mykonos, Greece! I'm so excited to experience the island Mykonos with fellow members of our super supportive and kind network of travel advisors as we talk shop, meet with local suppliers, and have a ton of fun exploring Mykonos so I can report back on the destination to you. I can't wait! Even just looking at the picture above of Mykonos makes me forget the dreary weather outside.
A few practical news items from the past week include Canada removing all COVID border travel restrictions as of October 1 and United becoming the first airline to offer direct flights between Washington DC and Cape Town. Delta is adding back a ton of direct routes from the U.S. to Europe, including direct flights from L.A. to London and Paris and resuming nonstop flights from JFK to the German capital's new Berlin Brandenburg-BER airport as of May 25, 2023.
But the sexiest announcements comes from Four Seasons, who are launching their new Four Seasons Yachts. Click that link to view the ship's sleek renderings.
