New Year's Eve and Day are normally my favorite holidays, the laying to rest of the past and honoring its lessons while looking ahead to a year of blank calendar pages waiting to be filled with as-yet unwritten events. While a new year is inherently full of surprise and uncertainty, 2021 has unique challenges as well as opportunities. So many places in NYC I've loved for years have temporarily or permanently closed their doors, and 2021 will literally be a new year - full of new developments, new openings, new healthcare advances, new reunions, new appreciation, new ways of being, and certainly new ways of traveling to experience it all.
