"Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind." ― Henry James
Last week I attended Korea Tourism Organization's spectacular tourism event at Cipriani on 42nd Street, and what I remember most was how everyone spoke about the kindness of the people in South Korea. I've definitely bumped Korea up on my wanderlust list! We were regaled with K-Pop music and dancers, traditional drumming, an acclaimed Korean cinema music composer playing guitar for us, beautifully shot promo films about different aspects of visiting Korea, plus a panel of travel professionals sharing their personal stories of first-hand experiences of exploring Korea. One of my fellow Gifted Travel Network colleagues in our group photo above was on that panel, and I loved hearing about it through her eyes. They even shared some popular K-beauty with an awesome skin care set in our swag bags. This event was among the very best I've ever attended because of how well they showcased the destination and all the fantastic ways they presented it to us. I'm really excited about Korea now, and if you are too, I have a lot of fresh new ideas for your next trip!
Last week was also my monthly Travel Night at the Montauk Club, and my invited guest was from South African Tourism. We shared about all the things you can see and do in the country like malaria-free game reserves, world-renowned vineyards, culture-rich cities, and more. One lucky attendee won my drawing and received a bottle of South African wine I brought from my travels to Cape Town. Next weekend I set sail on Explora Journeys, and my Travel Night co-presenter in May is from the cruise line. That's how I choose my Travel Night guests - based on where I've just been!
Yes, that's right - I'm off again soon! I'm so happy to be sailing from L.A. to Panama City and to tour the canal zone when I'm down there because my grandfather was an engineer who helped build its extension. It's so neat having a personal connection to the Panama Canal like that, and you'll be hearing more about my cruise in the coming weeks. Today is your last chance to catch a huge sale Explora Journeys has been having; CLICK HERE for info!
I also had a scrumptious lunch at Upland last week with five-star METT Hotel & Beach Resort in Marbella, Spain. The property is set on a huge beach and is an adults-only escape in the heart of the Costa del Sol. United still has their nonstop Newark-Málaga route, making the region super accessible.
I'm still getting last minute spring and summer bookings, but if you want to get ahead of the game, it's not too early to book your fall and winter travels now. Last week we passed half a million in sales for 2024, and with your help and referrals, my goal is to surpass $1 million this year. Let's do it! :)
