When It's Groundhog Day Every Day

"Today is tomorrow! It happened!" – Phil Connors, Groundhog Day

Greetings from a blizzardy Brooklyn! Yesterday we had nonstop howling winds and whiteout snow falls with large fluffy flakes and wintry mixes thrown in too. Because so many of us have been working from home and keeping cautiously indoors already, I can't remember finding a large Nor'easter storm being somehow both exciting and as blasé as I did yesterday. I love watching nature perform her arias like that, and at the same time, it loses some impact when you didn't have any plans to leave home anyway. Which brings me to... Happy Groundhog Day!

I've got a warm spot in my heart for this goofy holiday ever since I was a University of Pittsburgh undergrad. Some friends spontaneously decided to drive to Punxsutawney and came backstage right after I finished acting in a play to whisk me off (still in stage hair and make-up) for the almost two hour drive. I remember stopping at the Subway sandwich place in town, and there was a stuffed groundhog inside! As we stood in the pretty crowded wooded field in frigid temperatures, it slowly went from fun and games to freezing cold silence as the hours wore on. Eventually I wanted to drag that rodent out myself so we could just leave and get warm. It became such a great memory for all of us, and I still smile remembering that gonzo late night escapade to Punxsutawney.

I'm going to make my own prediction this Groundhog Day. One day it won't have to feel like you're living out your own bizarre sequel to the movie Groundhog Day. One day tomorrow WILL happen! I know this because I'm planning for my clients' tomorrows right now: the Caribbean, US National Parks, American river cruises, Alaska, Hawaii, Wales, London, Italy, Oman, the UAE, and more. The future will arrive, and like our groundhog friend above, I'd love to help all of you pop out of your burrows in beautiful locations, awestruck at the wonders of the awaiting world.

I design journeys that inspire by highlighting local arts and culture, history, and cuisine for intellectually curious clients longing to feel deeply inspired by exciting destinations, culinary delights, and authentic cultural experiences on a life-changing, joyful journey of discovery.
