This past week I celebrated a birthday and spent it doing what I do best these days - working hard! But it was fantastic actually because more than one milestone for my agency's finances coincidentally were achieved on my birthday, and I felt elated, and so grateful. It's been a long, long two and a half years, and I'm really proud of how Nine Muses Travel made it through and continues to grow, thanks to you.
The whole week was busy with exciting new requests and bookings for Amalfi Coast and Capri, Lima and Machu Picchu, Christmas in Northern Arizona, a honeymoon at Playa Mujeres in Mexico, and a couple of cabins on a very cool Mediterranean itinerary with adults-only Virgin Voyages. I especially loved crafting a culturally immersive trip for a family headed to Havana, Cuba on a Support for the Cuban People program (legal travel for Americans). They're going in November - just in time to take advantage of United Airlines' new nonstop service from Newark to Havana beginning the end of October. The short, four-hour flight takes you back in time to a Caribbean nation rich with a fascinating history and complicated politics, warm and friendly people, well-preserved colonial architecture, thrilling music and arts scene, and of course - all those classic American cars! I traveled to Cuba four times between 2013-2017, and I would love to help tailor an itinerary in Havana for you too. Definitely visit the Clandestina store, and you can pick up a bag like mine in the photo above from my last trip.
In other fun airline routes news... Starting in November, SATA Azores Airlines brings back its year-round schedule of direct flights from JFK to Madeira island, Portugal's floating garden in the Atlantic. Also, Emirates and United Airlines just announced a new codeshare partnership, meaning they can sell seats on each other's airlines, giving us more opportunities to earn those coveted frequent flier miles!
