Epic Summer Trips with Nine Muses Travel

If you think I'm having a great summer of travel, wait until you hear where my clients are right now!

Epic Honeymoon: Kenya, New Zealand, Tahiti, Galapagos

As I write this, the most epic honeymoon ever has begun as my clients are in route from JFK to Nairobi, Kenya. They begin at Giraffe Manor, which is actually shared with giraffes (including breakfast and afternoon tea with them!) before they fly to Mara, Kenya for their safari camp and days of game drives and a hot air balloon ride. After Kenya, they're off to Northern New Zealand for a week-long small group tour from Wellington to Auckland that includes visits to Weta Workshop (the special effects studio used by Peter Jackson for Lord of the Rings), volcano landscapes and hiking, thundering waterfalls, caverns with glow worms, the Hobbiton Movie Set where part of the Lord of the Rings was filmed, and more. This is only the half-way point. Next up is an over-water bungalow in Tahiti for almost a week of relaxation along with a Moorea shark and ray excursion, private surfing lesson, and spa day. Last but not least is Ecuador! They fly to Quito and the Galapagos Islands for a land-based, small group guided tour that stays on the islands of San Cristobal and Isla Isabela and includes snorkeling, swimming with sea lions, visiting a tortoise breeding center, hiking to the world's second largest volcano crater, and viewing a variety of wildlife like the famous blue-footed booby. Talk about a trip of a lifetime!

All the Caravaggio's in Rome

One of my best clients is also a friend and mentor, and he's in Rome right now after finishing a work trip to Spoleto, Italy. He told me this may be his last trip to Rome and asked me to arrange for him to see all the works of Caravaggio in situ in the churches of Rome. What a wonderful idea! And I knew just the place to go. Context Travel is one of my preferred partners for cultural tours because they are led by experts in art and history, usually with PhD or Master's degrees. Together we customized a tour not only of all the Caravaggio in churches but also at Galleria Doria Pamphilj, Capitoline Museums, Vatican Museum, Galleria Borghese, Palazzo Barberini, Museum and Crypt of the Capuchin Friars, and a visit to Casino Ludovici that is incredibly special, where Prince Ludovisi will welcome him to his home.

Celebrating in Luxury on Lake Como

Another client chose to celebrate a landmark birthday this summer with his wife in a lake view junior suite at the exquisite Villa d'Este on Lake Como, Italy. Besides being set in a 25-acre landscaped park, the villa has this amazing swimming pool that extends out into the lake, like it's floating. They sent me a me a list of celebrities they've spotted at the hotel, and they've enjoyed a tour and tasting at one of Lake Como's best wineries, a tour of Como and also Villa del Balbianello (pictured above), and a day in Milan for retail shopping and a spa day. They've been getting around with their private driver or by private boat, and they've enjoyed delicious dinners we reserved for them too. On the very first day, he texted me to say he wants to return every year, and the photos they've sent all look like postcards.

Meanwhile this week...

  • Happy clients are enjoying an extended stay in Mexico from Live Aqua San Miguel de Allende to Mexico City.

  • Another client is heading to Boston with her husband and grandson to sail with Holland America Line to Portland, Maine; Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia; Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; Québec City, and Montréal, where they disembark before heading to New York City.

And just within the next month...

  • Nine Muses Travel clients are going to Silversands Beach House on Grenada with friends.

  • A couple is road tripping in style on California Highway 1 and staying at Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, The Lodge at Pebble Beach (playing a round of golf), and 1 Hotel San Francisco. Great dining reservations too!

  • A new, solo client wanted an off-the-beaten-path Scandinavian trip where he can hang out with locals and be social. He'll leave soon for Oslo, Helsinki, and Oulu, which is a delightful city in Finland and a 2026 European Capital of Culture. He'll catch a festival in Oulu while he's there!

  • A family is gathering in Reykjavik before a group tour in Iceland timed to coincide with the solar eclipse. They'll be within the path of totality!

I loved working on all these adventures, and I'd love to plan something epic for you too!
