I hope this holiday season is as cheerful as it can be and you sometimes tune out the news, take a breath, and appreciate this beautiful gift of life and the beautiful people with whom we share it. To be honest, I didn't post anything cheery on social media for the holidays because it just didn't feel like Christmas to me this year, and I thought maybe others were feeling that way about the holiday season this year too. Even my own family gatherings were canceled - or rather, postponed.
I keep reflecting on my October trip through Tuscany and how blissful and free I felt and how I can't wait to experience that again, as soon as possible. I have a number of trips planned for 2022, and I look forward to them all. Should any of them need to be canceled or postponed, I also know they have extraordinarily flexible terms and conditions, plus I secured the added benefit of a robust trip protection plan for each one. It comforts me so much looking forward to future travel plans, knowing my trip investments are protected too.
Today in Puerto Rico, I have clients (a family from NYC) hiking in El Yunque Rainforest, swimming in natural pools, and lazing on Luquillo Beach before they return to their beachfront resort in San Juan. Last night they took a bioluminescent night kayaking tour in the mangrove forest of Laguna Grande Reserve. The day before that, they had a fabulous time on a foodie walking tour of Old San Juan. They're vaccinated, following all required safety precautions, and living their best lives right now. The psychological relief and release you experience traveling is so needed, always. What's also incredibly important is how this family are creating life-long memories of this shared adventure, which is vital after almost two years of too few new memories made together outside our home routines.
My sincerest wish for you in 2022 is that you'll make magical memories with your loved ones - the kind you hold onto for a lifetime, the kind where you're overcome with the joy of living in this beautiful world, together.
