"Everything about Florence seems to be colored with a mild violet, like diluted wine." — Henry James It's the final countdown! In two days I board my first flight in far too long and fly to Italy for 10 incredible days in Tuscany. I'm planning to go LIVE during my trip to show you some amazing places, so make sure to follow and request notifications to catch when I'm live at:
LinkedIn - Personal LinkedIn profile Facebook - Nine Muses Travel page YouTube - Nine Muses Travel channel
I'll be recording with StreamYard and broadcasting live simultaneously to those three channels. I've never gone live while traveling before, and I won't have a set recording schedule. When inspiration strikes between Oct 14-24, I'll go live! Check out this itinerary... I can't wait to share it with you! I'm flying direct to Rome, where a driver will whisk me off to the Val d'Orcia and the luxury thermal spa resort of Fonteverde. The next day I'm off to Florence for an invitation of two nights at Dimora Palanca, a newly-restored 18th century villa that caters to art lovers (like us). While in Florence, I've arranged a few other hotel site visits and dining at The Place Firenze, Four Seasons Hotel Firenze, and Villa San Michele, a Belmond hotel. Since this is my first trip (at last!) to Florence, I arranged a VIP Florence Duomo and Terrace Tour, Uffizi Masterclass by an Art Expert, and a small group VIP tour of the Accademia Gallery to see David. Before leaving Florence, I arranged a professional photo shoot to get some updated photos too! The next hotel where I'm hosted is in the seaside town of Viareggio at Hotel Plaza e de Russie, whose owner also has Hotel Byron in his portfolio, and I'll be getting a private tour of that property in Forte dei Marmi. These towns are rather like the Hamptons of Tuscany. Next, I arrive in Lucca for the Buy Tuscany tourism conference as a hosted buyer which means for the next few days, everything is covered by the conference organizers - hotel, meals, transportation, and even a welcome tour in Lucca. The one I chose is called Adante Con Brio, which is a musical term for a lively tempo. Lucca is the city of music and the birthplace of Maestro Giacomo Puccini, Luigi Boccherini and Alfredo Catalani. Young musicians will accompany us as we experience the atmospheres, lights, sounds, and places where the history of music has been and continues to be made: the Istituto Musicale Boccherini and the Puccini archive, the Casa Natale Puccini Museum, the Teatro del Giglio, the Church of San Pietro Somaldi, and the Oratorio degli Angeli Custodi. After our mix of business and pleasure in Lucca, the Tuscan tourism board arranged a selection of post tours, and it was so hard to choose because they were all so tantalizing! I decided on the Siena and Valdichiana Senese tour; the first day is devoted to an incredibly in-depth exploration of Siena, and the second day is a return to Val d'Orcia with visits to Pienza, Torrita di Siena, Montepulciano, and Chianciano Terme.
But wait - there's more! I return to Florence for a fascinating Context Travel private tour of Palazzo Pitti and a last blissful night at neighboring Villa Cora, set in a centuries-old garden that overlooks the Boboli Gardens. On the last day, I'll take the high-speed train to Rome and head home - undoubtedly changed by the beauty, knowledge, insights, arts and culture, history, cuisine, cities, villages, and landscapes of Tuscany. And I'll meet so many colleagues in person on this trip - people who will personally look after you on YOUR next trip to Italy under the care of Nine Muses Travel. These personal connections matter - a lot. I can't wait to share these Italian adventures with you and to help you plan your own!
